Graduation Requirements

Students graduating from Florida high schools are required to earn a specific grade point average (GPA), to pass the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT), and to meet the credit requirements of the State and individual district.

 

GPA

 

The Grade Point Average is an average of the grades earned by a student.  A detailed definition can be found at: Grade Point Average. The GPA required by each county for graduation is as follows:

FCAT

 

The Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test is administered to all 10th graders in Reading and Math as a requirement for graduation.  Students may re-take the test up to six times. Details about the FCAT may be found at www.fcatexplorer.com

 

Credit Requirements

 

Each school district may set its own graduation requirements in addition to the State’s requirements.
